Commitment Quotes and Tips

Do You Have The Commitment To Follow Through?

“There’s only one way you can fail, and that’s to quit.” -- Brian Hays

“A person with half volition goes backwards and forwards, but makes no progress on even the smoothest of roads.” -- Thomas Carlyle

“The miracle, or the power, that elevates the few is to be found in their industry, application, and perseverance under the prompting of a brave, determined spirit.” -- Mark Twain

“Genius begins great works; labor alone finishes them.” -- Joseph Joubert

“You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.” -- Mary Pickford

“If Columbus had turned back, no one would have blamed him. Of course, no one would have remembered him either.” -- Source Unknown

“The achievement of your goal is assured the moment you commit yourself to it.” -- Mack R. Douglas

Have you mustered the courage to start something but never finished?
Have you offered support to another person and then faded out of the picture?

If you make a commitment to yourself or others, the next big question is, “How do I keep the commitment alive?”

Get all levels of your being working on it so it anchors and manifests deeply.

  • Commit yourself spiritually – identify with your deepest motivation, cause, purpose, meaning, the ideal, the higher need, the bigger picture.
  • Commit your mind – think about it, discuss it, visualize it, affirm it, write about it, meditate on it, journal a dialogue with it, understand it, make a story about it.
  • Commit your emotions – imagine and feel the joy and satisfaction of having it achieved, draw it.
  • Commit yourself physically – act as if, act differently, take steps daily, express yourself.
  • Ask for help from friends, family and from your higher self.
  • Give thanks and open your heart.

It’s essential that all aspects of our being align with what we want to do. If our head affirms that something is important but our body and our emotions feel no desire to get involved, we will never succeed in our aims.
